This role involves a diverse mix of transactional and regulatory work, including negotiating sophisticated power purchase agreements and energy service agreements, advising on electric market design within major RTOs/ISOs, representing clients in proceedings before federal regulatory bodies, and counseling on evolving energy policy and carbon-free energy strategies.

- Strong drafting and negotiation skills for complex energy and power agreements
- Knowledge of power markets, RTO/ISO structures, and energy regulations
- Ability to analyze and advise on federal and state regulatory frameworks
- Experience with FERC-related matters and compliance issues
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- 3–6 years of experience in energy law, with a mix of regulatory and transactional work preferred
- Familiarity with the Federal Power Act and power market mechanics
- Demonstrated experience drafting customized energy contracts
- Experience advising on power transactions, market design, or regulatory matters
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment
- Admission to practice (or eligibility to waive in) in the relevant jurisdiction
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Strong academic credentials required
